Mr Haider Syed is a senior Consultant Urological Surgeon with 36 years of experience in urology, including over 25 years as a consultant and extensive experience in the NHS.
He has specialist expertise in kidney stone disease, having been a clinical lead for NHS kidney stone and laser services for many years. He also has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of prostate problems, urinary symptoms, haematuria, urinary infections, and common male urological conditions.
I am a kidney stone specialist and offer laser treatment and ESWL shockwave for kidney stones. I provide a service for all patients with prostate enlargement, PSA and related prostate problems.
I have a fast-track haematuria clinic (blood in the urine). I offer surgical treatment for adult circumcision and scrotal conditions like epididymal cyst, hydrocele and varicocele. I see all patients with urinary tract infections.

Specialist assessment and treatment of kidney stones, including ureteroscopy, laser stone surgery, and shockwave treatment (ESWL).

Assessment and treatment of men with an enlarged prostate, difficulty passing urine, poor urinary flow, frequency, urgency, and other lower urinary tract symptoms. Discuss surgical treatments, including TURP where appropriate.
Prostate Problems & PSA
Assessment of raised or changing PSA levels, prostate symptoms, and suspected prostate disease, with appropriate investigations and onward management where required.
Blood in the Urine (Haematuria)
Prompt assessment and investigation of blood in the urine, including appropriate imaging, urine tests and cystoscopy where indicated.
Urinary Tract Infections
Assessment and treatment of recurrent, persistent, or troublesome urinary infections in both men and women.
Scrotal Conditions
Diagnosis and treatment of common scrotal conditions including epididymal cysts, hydroceles and other testicular or scrotal problems.
Adult Circumcision
Assessment and treatment of conditions requiring adult circumcision, including problems related to the foreskin.
Urological Cancer Assessment
Assessment of patients with symptoms or investigation results that may indicate prostate, bladder, kidney or testicular cancer, with appropriate investigations and referral or treatment when necessary.

I have presented my work at British Association of Urological surgeons conference, European Urology and World Endourology meetings. My research work has been published in the British Journal of Urology and the Journal of Endourology.

I am a Clinical and Educational supervisor. I have trained Senior Registrars in Urology for last 15 years, who are now eminent Consultant Urological Surgeons across UK, America and Australia.

Graduated as a doctor in 1984 and have worked in the NHS for over 30 years. I started my Urology career in 1991 and completed training at the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospital, Oxford, in 2000.
